Busy busy busy!

I meant to update my weight loss last week, but I had L off school with a rather nasty tummy bug. I managed to lose 3lbs, which I was really impressed with.

Since then, I have still had L off school as he was still not 100%, and then to find out that a child in L's class has swine flu. My thoughts were then, he is not going to school until he has his sf jab on weds (tomorrow).

I have also had C off school for the past 2 days after he decorated the dining hall floor at school with vomit. My thoughts towards this were quite cruel, as I kept laughing about the fact that I didn't have to clear it up.

Today started out as a good day, as it is my 8th wedding anniversary (yay), but as I had both boys off school it was a tad ~~stressful~~ taxing. Everything went ok until dinner time tonight, when L decided to get in a strop with me & started swearing. Things finally got sorted out just before me & hubby went out for a meal, as L finally cracked from his strop & said sorry.

We went for a meal to a local gastro pub, which is the same pub that we met in 17 years ago. We had great food, a couple of drinks & then got to the point where we ~~became old farts~~ decided that going home was more comfy than sitting in a pub.

Oh yeah, I weighed myself today too. In 6 weeks I have lost exactly 1 stone in weight (Yayyyyyyy!!!).

Full on Lego induced OCD.....

C decided to ask me this morning if I could sort out his Lego so that he could find the wheels that he has in there.

This has now led to me having my full on sorting out Lego OCD. I have been sitting there ~~playing~~ getting a lot of the non-standard bits separated, as he has had so many sets of different models which have now been broken apart & chucked in with everyone else.

I'm so glad that L & C's carer is coming over in less than a hour to drag me away from the Lego. I know she will start playing then too lol.

*sigh* It has been another week with no weight loss. I am starting to think that my weight loss only seems to show every 2 weeks.

I have been on the tablets for a month now & I am hoping that it is not going to plateau off at this point.

On a good point, I took my kickboxing grading yesterday (monday 2nd nov) for my brown stripe belt 1st tip. I'm very glad to say that I passed, but I really naffed it up afterwards as I was asked to go through some previous self defence moves & my mind went completely blank.

I have been told that I am going to be tested on all of them next month *aarrggghhhhh*!!!

It has been a very good week for weight wise. My eldest son L had his paediatrician appointment yesterday & he has managed to put on a kilo in weight since august, which for him is an amazing thing.
For myself, I am liking the scales this week. I am on day 21 of my tablets & I have lost another 3lbs this week. Yay!!!!!!

I have a very busy time this week as it is half term & we have loads of appointments for L (2 on monday, 1 on tues & 2 on weds), so hopefully this will not have any impact on weight loss.

Current weight: 12stone 11lbs
Current jeans size: Size 16

Day 14 of the tablets......

I'm sure my scales are dodgy (lol). Sadly I haven't lost any weight this week, but I am still pleased that my waist size has obviously reduced as I can properly fit into my size 16 jeans, whereas 2 weeks ago I was wearing size 18's (they were a bit big though).

I'm getting to the point now where I usually slip up on any diet & eat rubbish, but I am determined to make this work. I have been going to my kickboxing & doing 2 sessions a week for 90 mins each (very hard work), jumping round like a lunatic on the trampoline in the garden, going mad on the housework & I am about to get the wii out & use the fitness trainer game on there.

Please let me lose some weight next week or I will go (a bit more) loopy.

Day 11 on diet

Wow I have been on the tablets for 11 days now & I still feel great. I have not weighed myself again yet, as I have the risk of getting very dissapointed if I haven't lost as much as I expected, but I decided to try on my size 16 jeans that I quite rapidly outgrew within the past few months.

I can fit in them & they are quite comfy. I may still have the "muffin top" thing going on, but it's better than the "whole bakery top" that has been going on recently.

I just can't get used to wandering round the supermarket & walking straight past the bakery section without getting any cravings.

I even bought chocolate recently & it took me 2 whole days to eat a lion bar!

Trying to lose weight....

I have been trying to lose weight very unsucessfully for a long time now, so a couple of weeks ago I finally plucked up the courage to speak to my GP about it.
I had recently changed GP surgerys as my last one was not exactly helpful when I asked about losing weight. Her reply was "join slimming world or weight watchers". I had already been a member of ww & I had lost 2 stone in 6 months. Sadly this was all that I could lose from doing their plan & some of it went back on.

My new GP decided that because of the excercise that I do & the healthy eating, that there were some concerns as to why I wasn't losing any weight. I had blood taken to be tested for Thyroid disorder, cholesterol & iron levels. These came back as quite good results. My thyroid levels are borderline underactive, but then I expected that, and my cholesterol levels were slightly high, but it's the good cholesterol that is high.

I was then prescribed Reductil as an appetite supressant. I started taking this last wednesday (07/10/09) and I weighed 13 st 9lbs.
The feelings I have had on this are pretty good. I have loads of energy & feel quite elated most of the time. I get one of the side effects which is a dry mouth, but this is good as it means that I drink loads of water. My hunger levels are gradually decreasing, but in this first week I am having to practice quite a bit of self control, as I got into the habit of eating beacuse I was bored.
I weighed myself this morning (13/10/09) and I am pleased to announce that I now weigh 13 st 0 lbs. Yay 6 lbs lost in 7 days!!!

The other good side of these tablets is that I have never been so organised, as I keep tidying up my house!

I have been a very bad blogger recently, and I do apologise for that.

We have had so much on recently as we have had a few birthdays to get through.

We are almost through that period of expense (well for my hubby anyway). In May we have 3 birthdays within 1 week. On the 3rd was my birthday 21st (I wish!), then was C's 5th birthday on the 5th, then tomorrow (10th) is L's 10th birthday. I know that it should be a fun time for L's birthday (which we will make fun), but it is also heartbreaking as this time 10 years ago was the worst time of my life.

If you carry on reading I will try to explain........................

In early may 1999 I was about 26 weeks pregnant with my 1st child. We knew that we were having a boy, but that was 14 weeks away, so we carried on celebrating my birthday. I started feeling ill that day, but thought nothing of it. A couple of days later I was due to go to work, but I felt too ill & thought it was just something simple & pregnancy related.
As the week went on I started to get progressivley (sp?) worse and started being sick lots (a bit sketchy on memory).

The next bit may be a bit too much info...........

On the friday I was getting really ill & in a lot of pain, so I got taken to see my GP. She was very concerned, thinking it was possibly gall stones & trying to get an emergency ultrasound scan done. The hospital said NO & said to book one for monday, so that was done.
That weekend I got a lot worse & along with the usual vomiting, we noticed that what I was bringing up was dark green/black in colour & I was in agony. I was taken to see the out of hours GP service on the sunday afternoon, by which point my Mum was told that I needed to be admitted right away & it would be quicker for them to drive me to the hospital than to wait for an ambulance.

I could not understand what all the fuss was about. I have been told that when Grant's (Hubby) parents got to the hospital & saw me from outside the hospital windows, they asked him who my Mum was taking to the toilets, as they did not recognise me.
I was double my size & very yellow in colour.
This was on the Sunday (9th may). I was admitted onto the ante-natal ward at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough & my family & Grant were sent home. The next day I went for a scan to check for gall stones. When the results came back negative I felt devistated, as I felt they thought I was faking something (not knowing about how I looked at the time).
It was in the afternoon that my Mum & a very close family friend called Auntie Janet came to visit me with some flowers & cards. It was only about 15 mins afterwards when we noticed quite a few Dr's & consultants discussing my notes.

I remember a Dr coming to talk to me & explaining that I was very ill & that NEEDED to have my baby that day. They told me that my baby had very little chance of surviving, but the strange thing I remember from that moment was my comment to him "I'm not going to think of him that way".
My Mum then told me that she had seen something written on my notes that said HELP.

It was not exactly right, what she thought she had seen. In fact it was H.E.L.L.P. which is for H.E.L.L.P. Syndrome http://www.hellpsyndrome.org/templates/System/details.asp?id=40426&PID=493919

Grant needed to be told what was going on, so my Mum phoned his parents, who then phoned Grant's work, with the message that I was going to have the baby that day & he needed to get to the hospital........

I'm afraid that I can't carry on writing tonight as it is such an emotional night..... I will hopefully update tomorrow night.

My beautiful little girl Chinese Water Dragon 'Hyrda' has given birth/laid/whatever it's called 8 eggs tonight. I will post pics soon, as I am going to be keeping it documented for "educational purposes" for the boys.

We have now got to wait anything from 60 to 80 days for them to hatch, then hopefully we will have some very cute (& valuable) baby water dragons.
Luckily C was still awake when we noticed that she had laid them, as he has been so excited about the whole process (Bowser & Hydra love each other very much & so babies are made lol). So he has gone to bed really happy now.

I decided to get another tattoo...

So it's been that stage again, where I looked at my lovely tattoo on my right leg, then looked at all of the plain flesh on my right leg.
On wed 04/02/09 I went along to Living Colour Tattoo in Bracknell to get some ink started.
I had no real idea of what was going on there, but then that's the way my right leg was too.

I am (hopefully) going to keep a track on the amount of hours taken to do the tattoo & the cost, as these are the usual questions that people ask when seeing my tatts.
So here is the 1st stage...

Employing a cleaner??

I am seriously thinking of employing a cleaner. The main reason behind this is because I am a really untidy person & whenever my parents or the in-laws are coming over, it is always a mad rush to get the house tidy.
Don't get me wrong, both sets of parents would not judge us (too badly) for having an untidy house, but my Mum always offers to come over & help me clean it & I feel really guilty & embarrassed.

The other reason I could get a cleaner would be for a whole job in itself that I really hate. It is this...

17 individual cushions of pure evil. It is L's sleep system & it such a pig to put the individual sheets on, that I would gladly employ someone to do it.

So if anyone knows the going rate for cleaners, please let me know.

Is weightwatchers worth it?

I went to weightwatchers today & as it's my 1st proper week of following the plan (I was very good), I expected to loose a few lbs..........
So I step on the scales, only to find that I only lost 1lb. Grrrrrr I can lose more than that on the toilet.

So that now brings the dilemma, is it really worth going along & paying £5.50 per week just to step on the scales & not really get any advice?

I think I may just use that money per week to go down the gym & lose weight that way.

No wonder weight watchers are rolling in money. All those people paying £5.50 per week just to get weighed.
All I wanted was some decent way to lose weight :o(

It's that time of year again...

I have decided to start the dreaded Weight Watchers again (sigh). I resigned myself to the fact that I am pretty pants when it comes to losing weight on my own & that I will usually (always) cheat on a diet otherwise.
I registered on weds & was not too horrified & surprised at my weight gain. It could have been worse.
The only trouble I have now, it that I am sooooooo hungry all the time. Grrrrrr!

Oh how I miss crunch nut bites for breakfast (the ones with the chewey caramel in them). Weetabix it is then (sob).

Right, now that I have left the kids with the electronic babysitter (tv & dvd players) while I had my bath, I think it's time I actually did something productive.

Lego or Mega Bloks?

We went to Toys r us today to buy C some Lego, as he got some for christmas, and he (we) loves playing with them.

Unfortunately Toys r us had naff all in there. As he only had £10 to spend, we could only find a Lego pack of 'Doors & windows' for that price, or for a bit less, we could get a 210 piece ship & dragon set from Mega Bloks. Needless to say we chose the MB version.

So my question is.....Why is Lego so bloody expensive? And what is the difference between the 2 brands (apart from loads of money)?

New year & new start

Ok so this is my first time of using a blog. I'm not too sure on what I am doing, so please bear with me.
It is 2nd jan & my kids are bored. I have shoved them infront of the tv & put on sponge bob, so they are happy.

I'm still very confused as to how this whole blog thing works, so I'm hoping that some kind person will give me some hints in the near future.
